Speaking of low-end torque and wish-lists... and "oil"-heads: The 
Marine Diesel motorcycle is working out quite well, and ought to 
reach civilian production by the end of this year. 585 cc custom 
engine in a KLR chassis. 130 MPG. Top end is 40 hp at 7000 RPM, but 
its inherent high torque will allow it to pull from 20 mph in 5th 
gear.

I'll either get one through a surplus auction or wait for the Kawi 
dealers to carry the civvie version.
