Barry,
There are three physical size plastic RJ plugs.  The largest one is for
a computer (RJ45).  The most popular size in the on connected from your
phone jack to your phone (RJ11 or 14).  The smallest one is the one that
connects from the phone to your telephone handset (RJ22).  See which
size you have and I'll see if I can help.
