Pete,

Sorry for the confusing style....

What I meant was that I tried roll ons starting from 5th gear and 
ending up in 6th gear and then again using only 6th gear. I do not 
remember clearly the max revs achieved in 5th but in 6th I think it was 
about 7400 but that could be wrong since my attention had many urgent 
inputs competing for it.

My experience had been the same with respect to those vehicles having 
an overdrive type of highest gear, i.e., the final gear ratio being 
less than one.

I am going to try testing the top end in 5th only. My memory was that I 
gained some revs and some speed after shifting to 6th.
