Groeger Special Tooling
2600 Bay Road, Redwood City, CA 94063
This is Joe Groeger in 1999 scoping out the condition of the large bearing from the rear-end of a 1966 BMW R69S. It’s an example of the type of things that used to happen on Saturday mornings at Groeger Special Tooling. (He found indications of pitting on the race – the bearing was replaced).
Joe turned 95 in March of 2015. He still meets with a group at Groeger Special Tooling in Redwood City about 10 AM on Saturday mornings. They leave for brunch in Redwood City around 10:30.
After breakfast Chris and Tom (a first timer at Saturday brunch) took the last after breakfast ride of the year.

Dick and Darryl joined about 200 other vintage bike riders in the annual San Francisco 49 mile ride.
Tom and Carol Weiss put together another great outing at the 22nd Cal Coast Campout & BBQ. About 50 campers enjoyed perfect weather, a worry given the rain before (and after) the event. We even had a line-up for the old bikes Sunday morning, something that had not been done the last year or two.

Dick says he could never bond with the ’10 Concours that replaced his wing. Too top heavy, for one thing. So out with the not-so-old and in with the brand new ’11 R1200RT with just over 200 miles on the odometer. It’s probably still on its first tank of gas.
Radio, ESA, heated saddle and grips, cruise control… lots of touring goodies.
Pictures of the after breakfast ride and some comments about the “honda” Chris bought.
A few snapshots taken at the 11th Surf City Tech Day hosted by Darryl.
Chris and Dick took an after brunch ride, possibly to celebrate birthday boy Chris.
Chris and Bill met Bob after breakfast and took a ride in the spring like weather before wet winter returns next week. It's only February. Some winter rain will be welcome.
The calendar may say it’s the beginning of February, but the thermometer says spring. Chris and Dick took advange of temperatures in the 70s to take a ride after breakfast.
