This ride was advertised as the first mid-week ride of the Obama administration. That seemed as good an excuse as any for a ride. The Captain’s timing in setting up the ride could have improved, however. The ride was scheduled for the day following a week of record setting high temperatures and blue skies. We had gray sky and a touch of rain. However, at the final stop of the day those riders not wearing waterproof gear put their rain gear on, insuring that we’d not see a further drop of rain the rest of the day. Thank you!
Five riders, fine dining (Denny’s and Jack-in-the-Box), one burnt out headlamp, one broken headlamp clamping bail ensuring burnt out headlamp couln’t be replaced in the field, a little bit of water from the sky, 50 degree temperatures, twisty roads, rough roads (Knoxville Rd), closed roads (Sonoma Mountain Rd), etc. A fine ride!
