Can’t sit inside the nicest day of the week. Especially with rain (finally) forcast for the start of next week. With those thoughts in mind four riders met at Bob’s house then headed off to Sunol for lunch.
After lunch we rode Calavaras road around the reservoir. We stopped once where Dick took the necessary group picture. I took a few pictures of the area around our stop and of the dam. SF Water is doing a lot of work on the structure.
A mid-week ride — even a short one — requires at least one dead end road. Marsh Rd off of Felter fulfilled that obligation this ride. Nothing to see at the end of the road.
Once back on Felter road we continued to Sierra Road with the obligatory stop in the no-parking zone to take a few pictures of the very hazy south bay. From there the route was mostly freeway the way home.
I was gone about 5 hours. Lunch was great. So was most of the 115 mile ride. It did bring back some memories. My very first ride on Calaveras Rd was in 1994, almost 20 years ago. It was one of the several roads I used to break in my then new K1100LT.
