This was Don’s ride. He planned it, called it, led it, and set a pretty good pace, too (although some might dispute that). The only thing lacking was a promised wildlife sighting. Apparently we should have been there last week.
I took the quick freeway route to breakfast in Sunol and the scenic Niles Canyon route to home at the end of the ride. I understand some of the other riders did the reverse.
99 ˚F seen once on my thermometer, but mostly low to mid 90s until I hit the San Mateo Bridge. I stopped for a drink on the way home near Sunol because I was thirsty and I wanted to make sure I hit the bridge during car pool hours. It worked.
Oh yeah… Joe spotted a nail in Chris’s front tire at Mt Hamilton. I had repair gear. Markus had repair gear. Don had repair gear. Dave had repair gear. Chris? Some sorry story that he left it in another bike.
