Chris apologizes for the ‘lunch location snafu’, GPS only partly to blame. However, had you followed Brothers Hampton & Weld you too could have enjoyed the splendor of the restaurant at Eagle Vines Golf Course. Yes, the food was GOOD!
when he sent me the pictures he took during the mid-week ride. Perhaps I need to apologize: I told many that I was leaving for home instead of lunch, but apparently not Chris. Lunch and my body don’t go well together after a large breakfast. I had a large breakfast in Petaluma.
Anyway, there were ten for breakfast in Petaluma. Nine of us went on a ride. Sue had to return home to work. Chris led us on a meandering trail that took us to the Hess Winery off of Mt Veeder were we got a dose of culture looking at the Hess Collection.
We had our fill of culture as the morning was ending. Chris lead Paul to lunch. Carl and followed for a while. When they turned east on 12 we took the direct route home. Randy left for home a few minutes ahead of the group. The others had turned west on 12, probably to their homes in the north bay.
The ride home reminded me why I’m glad I’m retired. Lunch hour traffic through Berkeley and across the bridge was bumper-to-bumper stop-and-go. I split lanes all the way. Glad I was on the skinny DR650.
The pictures are in my best guess as to chronological order. Some of the images have time stamps of Jan 1 1980.
