We still have 3 CX500s. My son's '78, mine '79 and I bought one of '82 (GL?)
this one is in an abandoned condition but the first two A-1. We also have
an extra engine. The only week point of the CX500 is its alternator, we had
one rewound and now it's perfect. It is an excellent work horse of a
machine. I got my 1979 up to 100.3 mph, as a test only.
The engine is very sensitive to valve adjustments. Proper valve clearance
is necessary for max compression. The bike have no serious value. We like
to have them so we'll keep them
