Okay Okay, first let me say my "road hugging weight" comment was a 
joke. Whoever said that 325lb. 180hp superbikes seem to have no problem 
staying on the track at 185mph was exactly right. Chassis geometry and 
set-up are what gives a particular machine its stability, or lack of.

BUT I find it funny that so many of you bother to compare DRY weights. 
Dry weights are purely manufacturer's fantasy numbers. Even if a 
magazine publishes a dry weight, it is only printing what the 
manufacturers claim. It is not as if a magazine will drain all the 
various fluids and oils and then weigh the bike.

Good magazines will test bikes with a full tank of gas, ready to ride, 
on a calibrated scale. This is THE valid way to compare the wieght of 
bikes. Don't you all want to know the weight ready to ride?

Since I know my stock Mille weighed more than 480 lbs ready to ride 
with no extras or bricks under the seat, I will go find some data. I 
wish I had a MCN around.  Milles are great bikes but they are FAR from 
light. My 636 feels everybit the 60+lbs lighter that it is.

I can find more but lack the energy tonight. Note that Sportrider list 
weights with and without gas but otherwise ready to ride. Those are 
great numbers to compare if you don't want to penalize a bike for 
having a larger tank.

I will quit causing trouble and just say that I love my RT and all its 
heft. Would I love it even more if it were a bunch lighter? You bet!
