The "trick" I was referring to was not the capacity of the alternator, but
the fact that you're now dealing with a digital electrical system. Most
accessories that draw significant current, like lighting kits, have their
own relay systems that hook directly to the battery or starter leads, but
adding a lot of heated clothing etc. to the bike's electrical system may
result in some weird behaviors that we've never experienced. Generally,
digital systems are less tolerant of low voltage in their power supplies.
Time will tell.
I too have one of these new machines on my wish list. By 06 model year,
they should have most of the bugs worked out.
