Marc:
My new '04 R1150RT came with MeZ4s. They were the "B" type, which is
supposedly made for BMWs. I stuck with 38F/40R on the bike. I'd put 42 in
the back only if it was really loaded. I got 8K out of the tires, which is
better than I used to get from these. I think they've changed the compound
or something (for the better).
I've got about a thousand miles on the Z6s and I can tell that they're gonna
be better to ride on overall. There's always that thrill of putting new
tires on your bike after riding on squared ones, but there's more to this
story. The tires are lighter in weight and stick better in cold weather.
I rode once in the rain too. They're better. This tire may be good enough
to convert me from 020s, which I've loved for years. The Z6's do cost more,
though.

>What mileage did you get on the MeZ4s? I'm currently running the
Michelin road pilot (39 PSI front, 42 PSI rear) and I don't have as
much confidence with them in the rain as I did with the BT020. I'd
like something a bit stickier that will last more than 6000 miles.
The Roadtec Z6 sounds promising.
