I use mine exactly the opposite way around
when parking outside the pub on a Friday night
bike rolls backwards to touch the curb (almost)
I put down the side stand to kill the engine
I thought that was what it was for ;-}
parked in the garage it always stays on the centre stand
force of habit learned from my R80
which smoked a lot on starting
