RE: Side-stand disconect

My old /5 has a small "L"  bracked on the  front left engine mounting stud where the spring from the side stand is  attached.  There are two possible positions for this bracket - in  one position the sidestand remains down when the bike if lifted off of  the side stand - in the other position the sidestand will retract once  the bike is lifter off of the stand.  This has to be one of the  earliest solutions to the issue of driving off with the sidestand down.
