As I said in a previous post, go to Jensen Tools, Radio Shack, or
Alpha Wire for a MOLEX type pin removal tool, probably a couple
dollars. It has a sliding collar to compress the barbs inside the
connector and a pin pusher center to remove the pin. Works for
either male or female pins. Try a computer surplus parts place or
some such other venue for you scroungers.
