No voltage on TPS?

Hi. Had a little run in with a truck the other day -- no collision,
except for me having to go wide on a RH turn and semi hitting the far
curb with the bike. I came off (still had one hand on the bars) but the
bike stayed upright and we only traveled about 3 meters or so together
like that. Thanks to the plastic head protector, the sides of the
centerstand and shifter, and the generously-tall cement curb, the bike
as a whole came through unscathed. Me, too. Safety gear is good.

My question is about the TPS / throttle position sensor (aka 'throttle
switch' in the parts fiche)...

The four-wire cable came unplugged without damage; I guess maybe my toe
pulled it out. In the moment, I didn't realize it, and after I got back
on rode for a bit with it still unplugged.

Right now, with the cable attached the bike nearly always dies when I
release the throttle. (Sometimes it does idle on it's own, but very,
very slowly; sub-300rpm.) The 'choke' lever is helping in this regard,
as it keeps the bike running enough to sit through a stoplight. At
highway speeds the bike doesn't feel any different that usual.

I noticed that the TPS looked like it had been rotated somewhat, so I
measured it, looking for the ~370-400mV DC on the red/white wire. I
don't get any voltage on it at all. (My meter is a known-good digital
Fluke, and I did later verify conductivity between where I pierced the
wire and the pins in the socket itself.)

So, with no voltage does that mean I need to replace the TPS? What about
measuring the other wires?

Thanks,
Mark
