Once the bike starts, the alternator provides all power to the bike. Strictly 
from a turning signal point of view, it should not matter if you removed the 
battery with the engine running. I'm not suggesting you do this. Just to 
illustrate my meaning.

BTW, corrosion doesn't have to be gross to affect flow. Sometimes corrosion can 
be difficult to see.
