Will,

Yup, on the right side, top of the engine near the front. It's right  
at the top of a 90 degree bend in the oil line headed to the coolers.

On my R1100RS, I can't see or feel the oil temp sender. The fuel tank  
is in the way. However, I can give you a diagram which shows the  
sender's location...
