Paint, bathroom, and cabinets (Sep 8-12)
The painter did his magic the first half of the week. We picked a trim color to match the cabinets (a cream color) and then a wall color that would go with the trim – a brownish tint. The ceiling was painted the trim color, too.

The last bit of work for the bathroom was re-installing the sink. Since we don’t use this shower we’re not going to put a curtain rod up yet. I’ll get one of the expandable rods and store it in a closet for possible future use.
The cabinets went up about as fast as they came down, faster than when they were initially installed. It helps when you know where to screw by following the old screw holes. A longer screw was used to fasten the book cases, though. The original screws were barely into the studs.

The final bit of carpentry was extending to the threshold by the new doors to minimise the height difference between floor and threashold. The height was just big enough to trip. It’s better now. The trim by the door was fixed at the same time.

The closet doors are the last thing to be done. The upper guides need to move now that the track isn’t as high. That will be it save the flooring plus the next project: painting the new exterior work and replacing wallpaper with paint in the hallway and the downstairs bathrooms.
