my st4s is way more fun than the RT, but different purpose bikes. i had
already upgraded the RT suspension to ohlins which was probably the most
important upgrade anyone can make to that bike. if you keep the ducati
running >4k, there is absolutely no shortage of rollon torque. taking the
time to set the suspension for your style of riding is the second most
important step anyone can take with their ride of choice. usually takes me
a week of small tweaking to get any bike to where i like the feel.

yes, this is an issue. i did all of my own work on the RT, don't think i
will do the valves on the ducati.

thanks, already subbed. i was waiting for a part for 2 wks this summer,
emailed ducati usa, part was overnighted from italy. last time i emailed
bmwna with an issue regarding my RT, i got the tutonic single finger salute.
i have found the bmw dealers in OR to be less than helpful, with one
exception and he is 250 miles south. the ducati dealer has been there and
responsive. i don't think i would be keeping the ducati if that dealer was
anything like the bmw dealers in the area.
> Your original post mentioned the ST4, not the ST4S
must have the posters mixed up, i have an st4s in the garage.

sorry. the first set of great curves are about 5 minutes from my front
door.
> Your comment that the dentist "shouldn't have dropped his bike"
nope, wasn't me, must have mixed up the posters again. i have never owned a
bike that i haven't dropped so it really dosen't botter me. ride hard, have
fun!
> If you want a Ducati, buy one. You don't need to ask a BMW list if it's
OK.
only one person i ask permission of :-))
> If you want to convince this list that they should all sell their BMWs and
buy Ducatis
naw, everyone should do what they wish regarding acquiring bikes that make
them smile. only reason for posting some of what i have posted is there
seems to be lots of misinformation floating around about the ducati's. my
only point is if you have not owned and ridden major miles on any bike,
don't tell me what it is like, that's all.
> My '00 RSV-R is WAY more fun
yep the mille R and now the mille factory should be great bike. rode the
first one but have yet to test ride the second.
> You might want to look at a Falco.
kind of like riding a K bike to me. sewing machine torque, really high CG,
didn't blow my skirt up for sure.
