If you want styling changes every two years, you have to buy
Japanese.  :)

But I suspect that stability of design is what many BMW riders
appreciate.

No, not at the "end of the road". But 100 rwhp is a tall order
for the 1200 twin.

I prefer lighter. But some like the road-hugging weight.  :)

The rims were embarrassing.
Those 2 were part of what kept me out of BMW ownership several
years ago.

Variable ergonomics, heated grips etc. Nice touches.

Somehow, I get the hunch that a lot of the faithful would be
turned off if styling changes began happening every two years.

Not really. It's still the boxer twin. Nothing's really changed.
They've just been tweaking the same engine configuration.
