I don't find chain lube a hassle. Really.
I use a good quality spray lube and don't mind it at all.
When on a long tour, it's a little quality time with the bike
once a day. :)
About 3-4 minutes and you're done. And I don't even have a center
stand!
Having an autolube device is convenient, but it also means
carrying oil for it while on tour.
With bikes as maintenance free as they are today (and mine is),
it's one of the few things left that I can do to bond with the
bike. :)
