You make a good point comparing shocks to a nice comfortable old pair of
shoes :) I happen to love old shoes...
Now to shocks: On my bikes listed below the ride was quite harsh when new
and even allowing 50% for me becoming accustomed to this, the other 50%
definitely says that the ride is getting more like I want it as the miles
add on. I'm not a racer but subscribe fully to "The Pace" type of riding
and I like to use all the tread I pay for right up to the edge and have had
no problems with handling, braking etc.
As in everything I suppose YMMV.
