Oilhead service interval question

I'm hoping to ride to Spokane in July, but here's the deal: I've clocked
about 8k on the 1100s, but estimate I'll only have 10k by the "10 days
before a trip" mark. Then a round trip to Spokane will push it to 14K, more
or less. Better to do the 12K service -2k or +2k? Will doing it late affect
the warranty?
