Bob,
I was so excited that I bought an R12GS last April! :-D
As I have said before (but maybe not here?) the new R1200 drivetrain is a wonderful thing. I am so much happier than I was with my 1996 R1100RS.
It is funny, on most of the forums I frequent, people kind of like the look of the new RT but do NOT like the look of the new ST, so you may be in the minority there. Nothing wrong with that.
Take a test ride when you can and report back!!!
