Year and Model of bike: R1100s, late 1999. Mandarin Orange.
Miles ridden by current owner: 53,000
Total miles ridden, all owners: 58,000
List of major issues:
None
-
-
List of minor issues:
- Having to remove fairings sides to access battery is a real PITA.
- Ditto - and more so to replace the (internal) fuel filter. This was
inexcusably dumn.
Comments, +ve:
Great tyre wear (after lousy K series non-radial
experience)
Easy (!) to keep clean
Engine sync-hunting slowly dissapeared after 34,000m After-market Corbin
seat comfortable for my bum Great performance
Comments, -ve:
Clunky gearbox action when changing down
Cat converter internally fell apart at ~50,000m
Hall effect sensor died
After ~55,000, heated handlegrips (particularly
throttle) pattern has worn & now has consistancy of
chewing gum.
Minor oil leak (weeping) on RHS & under engine-gearbox interface since new
