After 170,000 km on the '94 R1100RS I changed the shocks to a set of OME shocks of 30,000 km.  The shocks I removed had nothing wrong with them except their age which is my problem too.  I will ride the bike as soon as weather permits and only then will I be able to tell if there is a difference in ride.
