Karl,
We have the exact same bikes. The correct clour is "Perl-white". I needed to 
repaint and even the original paint from Germany did not match. A nearby 
auto-paintshop found the rigth combination, it's a three step procedure. In 
case you'd need paint job, give me a buzz for details.

I too swapped out the intake tubes for GS tubes and like the change it
made on my '94 R1100RS. I did it back in '98 according to Rob's
suggestions. Here's a page I put together with his original findings
