Most common failure among friends at those kms is one of the rings that
blocks the piston. Then the rod breaks and hammers the cylinder.
Since the bike ate some oil for a long time, I first thought that was
that that happenend, but OTOH when it happened the engine rev'd all the
time (sorry I miss the vocab.) I mean no rear end slip, no engine stopping.
So I reverted to a valve, since the loud bang happens every crankshaft
revolution. Tom Cutter "seconds the motion", I'll tell you as soon as I
do the work.
