Carl says (Aug 2002):
Some misc pictures taken the 1st of December. The cable ties are temporary. Fred says the bike will be ready to start in 2 more weeks. The last two pics are of the Yamaha Turbo which has taken some time away from the triumph.

The Triumph draws first breath on the second kick. What a great sound! Take note of details not showing in recent pictures… genuine NOS Champion spark plug caps, original knee pads (rejuvenating in Armorall for the past year), and some other less obvious stuff.
An initial leaking carb (hey, it’s a Triumph after all!!) was cured after the float pivot pin found it’s proper resting place (with a bit of encouragement).
After the test running of the motor, Fred balanced the carbs for smooth performance (comparatively speaking). A check of the ammeter showed that a) the ammeter was working, and b) the bike was charging properly. Running the bike through the gears on the centerstand found no problems.
A few more details such as mounting the horns and license plate are in order, and then it will be time to put the bike on the road.
On the road
Editors note: I know the bike is on the road because friend, fellow BMW rider, and sometime breakfast club rider Chris Weld saw it up at Alice’s and took these pictures.
