Saturday morning
There was no rush Saturday morning. Rob was going to head toward Gardnerville, about 70 miles from camp, before going off to Virginia City or Carson City. My plan was to hit Bodie state park then take the back way out of Bodie heading north to Gardnerville. But first breakfast. Bacon and French Toast for me. Rob decided to skip most of breakfast. He did try a piece of my bacon, though.
Even without rushing we were fed, packed, and ready to go by 9:30. I was at Bodie around 11 AM and wandered around the ruins taking pictures for an hour or so. The it was back on the Mule (my bike got a name this trip) for some back (dirt) roads. I didn’t take exactly the planned route, but eventually got back to paved roads near the southern end of the Bridgeport Reservoir. Traffic from there to 395 was non-existent. I made it to Gardnerville before 2 PM.
