I got one. Don't know what a new one goes for, but I'll sell you mine for
1/2 the price of new.

Subject: speedos?

Does anyone have a spare speedo drive ( and no I am not talking about the
all too brief swim suit version)

My speedometer quit and I discovered apparently I was suppose to be treating
the speedometer drive gears at the front wheel assembly to lots of tender
care and love. Upon checking it out I found out the worm gear was frozen
solid and the helix gear which is Nylon was chewed up to where it wouldn't
even turn.

Others might want to baby this unit atleast each time you have the front
wheel off. I can't get the worm gear to even loosen up after soaking it so I
assume it is gauled up inside and doesn't appear to be able to be taken
apart.

Surly someone has an RT (mine is a 96 r-11rt) that has gone from viable
motorcycle to paper /parts bike.

Thanks for any help
