  I would have said no before. I had breakfast with my BMW tech/friend. He
described the problem. The gears after the cush-drive input shaft are
binding just of a second causing the caming over. Accelerated wear on the
gear at the end of the input shaft is the result.
  There have been a few people driving MANY miles with the problem.
