   Yep, the piston (throwout bearing) is plastic and they DO destroy 
themselves
if left unprotected. http://tinyurl.com/rswzd  Item #2 and they have come 
down in
price recently.  Only $63 now and they were $74.  Still $50 at Chicago BMW
