I have a Givi rear-mount top case/rack that mounts behind the rear 
seat (just past the grab bar) and can be used for carrying other 
things. The California charcoal cannister may have to be re-located. 
(Or removed...YMMV) But otherwise no other mods were needed. Mine is 
on a 1997 model so they should have the same mount points/hardware. 
Don't know about availability.
