head gaskets

On an unrelated note, how long does one expect the head gaskets on an 
R1100R to last? Did an oil change last night, and I noticed the plastic 
covers on my throttle bodies seemed oily and there's some build up of 
oil+dirt on the leading edge of both gaskets' areas.
