Here are some images taken at Darryl’s 9th Annual Surf City Tech Day. One comment to go with the images: Karma’s a bitch.
This morning I was joking with someone about Norton parts; the proper way to collect them is to follow someone on their Norton. Later this afternoon the subject of mufflers falling off of bikes came up. Seems it’s more common than not. Put those two conversations together and what do you get?
The right muffler fell off my R69S on the way home, somewhere around Pigeon Point on the coast. By the time I figured out what the source of extra noise and slightly rough running was it was too late to go back and look for it. Besides, it’s the second time it fell off the bike (the first was 11 years ago). This time it was unexpected as the mounting screws were torqued properly the last time the mufflers were installed. From now on I’m going to use loctite.
