Joe at work, Nov ‘99
This is Joe Groeger in 1999 scoping out the condition of the large bearing from the rear-end of a 1966 BMW R69S. It’s an example of the type of things that used to happen on Saturday mornings at Groeger Special Tooling. (He found indications of pitting on the race – the bearing was replaced).
Joe passed away in February 2020, a few weeks shy of his 100th birthday.
Eh? What’s that say? Too small to read. Well click on the image and update your calendar. It’s holiday party time. December 4th. Noon. See you there.
About 40 folks had a wonderful time at the Central Cal Coast Campout and BBQ. Weather, food, and company were perfect. If you weren’t there you missed another good one.
A few pictures on packing my R69S for a camping trip. I don’t take nearly the amount of stuff I take on my GS, but all the essentials are there.
Snapshots taken April 10 at Darryl’s 10th Annual Surf City Tech Day. Everything was great except the weather (which wasn’t bad, just not great).
Chris went to the Euro bike show in San Jose after breakfast and provides some commentary and pictures.
Joe turns 90 with a morning celebration after brunch and an afternoon affair for those who couldn’t make it earlier. Chris tells more.
Watch work?
Fog on the hill
Happy New Year!
Joe was busy at the shop, scrounging up bits and pieces of old watches
for Carol. The tools on his bench imply that this wasn’t the only watch
or clock work being done. After breakfast Marc and Jeff took Old La Honda
road up to Alice’s. Foggy.
