The Northern California BMW Club puts on the 49’er Rally every year over Memorial Day. As a club member I volunteer. This year, for the first time, I worked the ‘Bier Garten’ (Beer Garden). I rode-up with Randy Bush (home too!) and he volunteered to work the beer garden with me. It was HOT! and on the hottest day too!
The poker run was a lot’o fun roadway, about 108 miles worth. MJM opted to leave for Riverside on Sunday morning as did Button and Katz, which was a ‘good plan’ to beat traffic mess. Randy Bush’n me, well we packed-up with the plan to ride home into the setting sun right after the wards ceremony Sunday, (they concluded just before 8 pm.) So Sunday afternoon our bikes are loaded, camp-mates were already on the road, what were we gonna do?
We took a ride! It was 20 miles of dirt, gravel and some really soft sh_t. Sure glad I paid attention to Button’s admonition to speed-up over that soft sh-t. It was a great learning experience.
