This is Joe Groeger in 1999 scoping out the condition of the large bearing from the rear-end of a 1966 BMW R69S. It’s an example of the type of things that used to happen on Saturday mornings at Groeger Special Tooling. (He found indications of pitting on the race – the bearing was replaced).
Joe passed away in February 2020, a few weeks shy of his 100th birthday.

Joe Attracts the Girls (Always)

Next Saturday is Joe’s annual holiday party. Chris reminds us that our obligation is two-fold, show up and bring something to share. Party starts at 12 Noon, come a little early if you’re willing to help set-up.

Joe’s next birthday is March 13th. Number 94, I believe. His suggestion is to meet at the bakery south of his shop on Saturday, March 15 at 2:00 PM. ‘Cocola’, located at 2810 Bay Road (x Street is Warrington). Sounds good. See you there!

Fire department action
Chris sends some pictures taken the day of the fire next door to Joe’s and the day after cleanup.
