Paul surprised me at Joe’s this morning with spacers of varying thickness. Time to mount the front swing-arm.

The first combination of spacers I used fit, but I couldn’t get the pre-load on the bearings right. The second combination was a bit harder to assemble as it was about .2 mm thicker. Once together, though, it tightened down nicely. The second picture shows the shocks mounted to the swing-arm.

The only hard part about mounting the front fender was remembering which way the front brace went. A quick perusal of some earlier pictures was needed to refresh my memory.

The first picture is a close up of the mounting. The stainless steel hardware looks great, especially the SS pinch-bolt. The second picture shows the end of the swing-arm axle. The axle nut is not normally chromed, but why not? The rubber plugs were good enough to re-use.

The previous owner had recently replaced the headlight mounting ear rubber so it was in good shape. I am using stainless steel hardware, though. I installed one, then the other. Looking good.
