Either I’m getting impatient or things are moving slower. Not sure which. The load of stone/sand that was delivered last Friday was an accidental duplicate delivery. They picked up 6 out of 8 pallets of stone and took them back.

The retaining wall and the seat wall by the shed now have their pre-stucco coats. The cap stones have been added to the retaining wall – looks nice. The steps that make up the stone pathway to the BBQ area are in progress. The steps to the garden area are just about done. Stones are now being set in the sand that makes up the BBQ area.

What a difference a truckload of stone makes. This afternoon the 2 inch bullnose stone for the pool coping and the seat wall tops arrived (along with the stucco). Just putting the 2 foot slabs on top of the seat wall changes the look. The BBQ area is now about 1/2 done. The space between the stones is a sand and soil mix that will be irrigated with a drip system to allow things to grow between the stones. Nice.

The elm tree went in the ground, today. The coping stones are being laid around the pool. The seat wall seats are almost done.

filling the cleaned spa
Next week they’re going to do the stone work around the spa, so I thought I’d take the cover off, clean it, and then clean the spa (before they get it dirty again). The current lay of the concrete is such that water drains into the spa, so I know it would be dirty. It didn’t look too bad at first, but once the crap on the bottom got mixed up the water turned quite brown. I drained the spa into the pool (through the filter) which did it’s job quite well. Except now the filter needs to be flushed.
