More things planted, plus lighting. Some of the irrigation zones are already being used.

Another 100 degree day according to the thermometer in the front yard. Mitsuko and I put the dining room back together now that the floor is sealed and the walls are painted. I still have to paint the doors to the back yard.
More things are going in the ground. The tree specialists pruned the walnut tree, getting it out of the cable TV and phone wires among other things. The path lights have been placed. Lighting wiring is in progress as are tweaks to the irrigation system. The drip system in the front hillside is done.

Today two butterfly maples were planted, some of the lights were wired, and the yard prepared for the sod that’s going to go down tomorrow. The driveway island also changed. We pulled out the dumb looking light and are now looking for an interesting piece of sculpture to put there, among whatever is going to be planted. I oiled the screen fence between seat wall and shed.

guyed elm tree
My parents came over this afternoon. When we sat down to lunch there was a lot of dirt in the back. When we got up from lunch I had a lawn (that I’ll have to mow in 2 weeks :-). The elm tree was guyed using proper cables – the temporary wire was stretching in the afternoon wind.

another Bougainvillea
The irrigation control unit and front yard lighting transformer has wired up to its own 15 amp breaker; convenient as I had the spare breaker in the pool equipment electrical panel. Most of the lights are connected. It looks pretty good at night. A drip system has been added to the BBQ area and the pathway around the house. Tomorrow ground cover will be planted between the stones.

The small, lace leaf Japanese maple was planted at the entrance along with some moss, decorative grasses, and a few stones. It looks quite striking. Both maple trees are let at night – the path light that was planned for that area are not needed.
The screen fence around the shed is finished. I oiled it, but ran out of oil before I could finish the pool equipment enclosure.
