Goodbye, driveway. Goodbye, pine tree.

gone (even the stump)
The drainage pipes from the front and back need to be tied together and this occurs under the front of the driveway. Also, this portion of the drive will be covered in stone. Also, last week we found out that either the plan to widen the access to the front will have to change or the pine tree will have to go. As the pine tree would need supports, anyway, we decided to get rid of it. We’ll replace it with something smaller.

Now that the pine tree is gone the rock wall that outlines the mini-garden area goes in. Meanwhile, in the back, they’ve filled in most of the trenches and are starting to put in the irrigation controls. The other activity is getting ready to pour concrete. The top of the driveway has about a 4 inch drop – the bikes will stay in the garage for a while. The one foot rock wall along the sidewalk has been put in place.

The concrete is in. Its rough, the better to grab the mud used to hold the stone that’s going to be laid on top of it. Some more irrigation has been added along the side of the house, too. Don’t know what’s scheduled for next week.
