As described on the previous page I am using the 3D printer to make add-ons for other machinery I own.
Freshly printed
Tool holder
I found the design for these Quick Change Tool Post (QCTP) holders on thingiverse. It looked much better that what I was using so I printed one to see how it fit. I liked it so printed two more. I can now hold all of the QCTP tool holders I currently own.
I’m again using different slicer software and am trying to get the settings just right. One problem I’m having is my bed is not flat. It has a hump in the middle. On this print the support structures were merged into the base on the bottom layer. I need to lower the bed a touch. The top layer also isn’t as smooth as I’d like. I’m still learning.
The fist picture is the “doser” of my coffee grinder. The star wheel is in two sections, one above the metal shield and one below. The arms on the bottom section were short – perhaps they shrunk over the years.
I took some measurements and then designed and printed a replacement part. That’s the second picture. The first print was close. The second print fit well enough to use. I thought it would take three tries to get it right. The replacement works much better than the original part.
