I’ve had my printer for about 4 months and am finally getting around to printing the ubiquitous 3D printer benchmark Benchy. There are some minor issues that can be seen in the photos, below. I think most are related to slicer settings.
In addition to cleaning out the hot end as described on the previous page I changed to printing directly on a clean 12" x 12" mirror. The mirror is flat; more flat than the sheet of PEI I was using. I also narrowed the distance between the build surface and the nozzle for a slightly better first layer.
These pictures were taken on Wednesday.
This is my second try. It is slightly better than the first. I’m going to play with a different print to fine tune my retraction settings to try to get rid of the tiny zit I’m getting at the start of each layer before I print another Benchy
