Preparing files for printing on my desktop machine then copying them to an SD card so they can be printed works, but there is an easier way. I took the Raspberry Pi that was on my CR-10S and moved it to the MK3S.
RPi with case for MK3S
RPi in case
It didn’t take too long searching Thingiverse to find a design I liked. I printed this in orange PLA. It doesn’t quite match the Prusa orange PETG parts, but close enough. No problems printing. This is what was printing in the short video taken yesterday.
The fit is perfect. The two sides sandwitch the board in place and are held together with 4 M3 screws.
Case mounted to frame
Cables here
The case mounts using existing threaded holes on the frame just above the stock control board housing. I’d like to use a shorter USB cable, but my only shorty has the wrong flavor of connector. I’ll see if I can find one shorter on line. I bundled the power, USB, and (not shown) camera cable up so they are out of the way. A cable tie holds it to the case.
And a camera mounted, too
I did say a camera. While on Thingiverse I found a mount I liked and printed it in the same orange PLA.
I can now prepare designs for printing and drag and drop from one window on my desktop to another. That results in the file being wirelessly sent to the Raspberry Pi running OctoPrint and optionally starts printing the file. I can control the print from my desktop. Perfect.

Shorter cable
They make very short (6”) USB type A to type B cables. It slightly cleans things up. I haven’t yet come up with a better way to bundle the camera cables out of the way.
