It’s getting very, very close to being done. The painter was here to scope out his job. Actual painting is scheduled for next week. Measurements for carpeting were taken today. The carpeting is is scheduled to be installed in two weeks. The final electrical work will be done between paint and carpet. A real door is going to installed in the water heater cabinet. The cabinet maker should be in touch before this week is out to schedule his final touches. The only thing up-in-the-air right now is the heating sub-contractor.
The cabinet maker came and installed the two doors that needed to be trimmed. He then checked the plans, noted where the knobs were supposed go, verified that we were happy with that, and then punched the locations in prep for drilling. When the first hole was drilled he realized that all of the knobs were opposite the brace in the back of the door. The wall cabinets can get by with longer screws. The under sink doors, however, have to be counter-sunk as the hole came out where the brace was angled.
