Someone in a KTM 790 Adv thread on Adventure Rider posted a picture of some bumpers that mount to the passenger pegs. I believe they were a 790 Duke part that also fits on the 790 Adv. Interesting. The peg mount is a part that will likely hit the ground in case of a drop. I wonder…
3rd try

This is my 3rd version. I 3D printed them from PETG – ABS or ASA would probably be a better material but I didn’t have any on hand. They are a friction fit. I haven’t put them to a real test to know they won’t fall out over time. Or that they will actually protect the peg bracket in case of a minor fall or low side.

They are on the bike. It took a decent hit with the heel of my hand to get them to seat. Folding the passenger peg down pushes the bumper out. So far so good.
If anyone wants to help test the design here is the stl file. I used these printing params:
- PETG (ABS or ASA might be better)
- 0.15mm layer height
- 4 perimeters
- 5 bottom layers, 7 top layers
- 40% Gyroid infil
Update: Three years later (March 2023) and the bumpers are still there, holding up quite well.
Update 2: A minor off road drop (September 2023) broke one of the bumbers. I replaced it. Then I wound up removing the passenger pegs and peg brackets. I’m pretty sure my ankle got messed up in that drop because the heel of my boot got caught in the brackets.
