What I had
This phone mount has been on the bike since Sep 2019. I’ve never really liked it and as a result rarely use the phone GPS Map app on the bike. Part of the reason I didn’t like this setup is the phone case I was using made it super easy to accidentally press one of the side buttons with the arms of the mount.
Quadlock ball mount with vibration damper installed
A friend recommended a Quadlock mount. He’d been using them trouble free with several bikes using handlebar mounts. That was quite a while ago.
I finally got around to looking and found that quadlock makes a ball mount. I got it, the vibration damper option, and a new case for my phone. This picture shows the ball mount with the vibration damper installed. Bonus, I like the Quadlock phone case better than the one I had.

Phone mounted
Here is the ball mount on the bike. The ball socket is shown on this page. The vibration damper extends the phone a touch more than I like, but thought it worthwile give reports of broken image stabilization on phone cameras mounted to various bikes. The phone sits roughtly on the same plane as when in the Ram X-Grip mount.
Update: I’ve since replaced the standard lock (blue lever piece) with a lock that integrates a wireless charger.
